Threshold: Body & Verse
Threshold: Body & Verse is a fledgling queer & trans-centered Seattle-based series that blends performance art, poetic recitation, and embodied exploration. The series invites performers to develop hybridized performances, straddle the line between poetic recitation and embodied practice, and flex their artistic agency.
The first installment, held in November 2024 at Common Area Maintenance (CAM), was united by the theme of the Myth of Narcissus. The upcoming second installment, titled “Desire Machine,” draws from Deleuze and Guattari’s concept of desire production and will entail an interactive set of disassembled machine parts and physical items that symbolize desire like red lipstick, roses, letters and letter openers, and more.
Dates for the next installment will be announced via Cass Garison’s Instagram & the CAM Instagram
